“I have a deep reverence for the Earth.” Each of Liz Taft’s plein air paintings is a homage to the island. She strives to simplify what she sees, observe the subtle colors and capture the magic that she feels. liztaft.com
Janet has been a traditional photographer since the early 80's ...using film and working in a darkroom making silver prints, which are then toned with various hand mixed toners. Her latest series, which combines gelatin silver prints with encaustic medium and found materials, explores the annual fair at dawn, a time when the landscape creates its own meaning and the imagination can run a bit wild.
After a career in illustration, graphic design, advertising and industrial design, Chip Coblyn moved to the Vineyard as a breakaway not only from city life, but also symbolically from commercial art into fine art. Originally this work was intended as an exploration of the model’s struggles with Lyme Disease. Now, in the wake of COVID, it can also be viewed as a study of inner turmoil amid unrelenting chaos.

Always searching for a painting, June Schoppe splits her time exploring the varied sea coasts of the Gulf of Mexico and the shores of Martha’s Vineyard searching for the light, an alluring composition, a story to tell and the iconic images of a place. Equally at home in the studio or en plein air, she uses oils to translate that search into works that speak of time and place, dreams and reminiscence, passing storm and serenity.
